Maryland Responds Medical Reserve Corps

The Maryland Responds Medical Reserve Corps is a community-based, civilian, volunteer program that helps build the public health infrastructure and response capabilities of Maryland communities. The Maryland Responds MRC consists of dedicated Responders who volunteer their skills, expertise and time to support ongoing public health initiatives and assist during emergencies.

Maryland Responders include medical and public health professionals, such as physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, dentists, veterinarians and epidemiologists. They are are dedicated volunteers who stand ready to respond to the public health needs of our community. Whether it’s responding to a natural disaster or helping community members prepare for flu season, Maryland Responders are Ready for Anything.   • Gain access to a comprehensive emergency response and preparedness training program, with opportunities for continuing education credit and/or professional development;
  • Be protected by the State of Maryland worker’s compensation and liability coverage during activations;
  • Have the option to “choose” or “not choose” to be deployed in an emergency or disaster;
  • Have the opportunity to make a difference in your community.
